We offer quality surf classes taught by certified instructors dedicated to sharing their passion for surfing, while promoting a positive, friendly environment. The school is located at the base of the dunes on the plage Nord in Vieux Boucau, on the Sablères beach: the best spot to surf. A spacious beach with huge sand banks, and a big tidal range, it offers plenty of surf spots for all levels.
The Vieux Boucau surf school is just 30 minutes from the Dax train station and 45 minutes from the Biarritz airport. Vieux Boucau is a small, very relaxed beach resort, popular for its wild, natural surroundings yet not far from Hossegor for those looking for nightlife, and very close to Spain.
Vieux-Boucau offers a variety of natural landscapes ideal for a huge range of sports including surfing, body boards, stand up paddle, sailing, fishing, golf, tennis, quad, horseback riding, biking (with miles of bike paths through the forest and near the sea), and hiking, to mention a few. You will also find a full range of amenities including bars, restaurants, clubs, shops and supermarkets. There’s definitely something for everyone !

Here are the provisional schedules of the school, given as an indication.
We have 4 departures from mid-tide to low tide and vice versa. Generally, departures 2 (D2) and 3 (D3) are more suitable for children because they are closer to low tide.
We have slots more suitable for beginners and others for surfers who already have a sufficient level of surfing (perf). Some slots are reserved for groups (private).
Depending on the sandbank and the weather conditions, these schedules may be modified.

This is the best way to learn how to surf. You will get feedback about your progress throughout the week and once you have completed the classes you will be given a certificate.
You will be in a group of no more than eight people according to age and level.
The equipment, board and wetsuit are provided.
We have four class starting times from mid-tide to low tide and vice versa. Generally, starting times 2 and 3 are more suitable for children as the sessions are closer to low tide.
Whatever the option you choose, after your first surf session, you are free to change your choice or simply stop if you wish.
Sessions last one and a half hours
For kids aged six to eleven, the appropriate equipment is provided: a full wetsuit for children in both summer and winter.
Women are provided with women’s wetsuits.
To try surfing or perfect your surf skills without committing to a full week.
You will be in a group with a maximum of eight people according to age and level.

Thanks to your surf instructor’s personalized insights and tips, you will make progress faster and gain a deeper understanding of surf technique. You will also be able to share your victories and challenges with him or her.
Coaching is often recommended for more experienced surfers, but it is also an extremely enriching learning experience if you are just getting started and want some extra personal attention.
